Students study online at any time of day while maintaining their professional and family lives. There is no need to relocate or put your career on hold in order to further your education.

Food law is expansive and constantly changing in nature as technological advances are made. That’s why it’s critical in the expanding global marketplace to understand the complex regulatory environment surrounding food and how food law impacts the flow of food and agricultural products across national boundaries. The Global Food Law program allows students to influence the impact of the role food plays in people’s everyday lives. Global Food Law students work with expert faculty to gain experience in applied food law, supported by the resources of one of the world’s foremost food universities.

The Global Food Law Program at the Michigan State University College of Law gives lawyers, regulators and other food industry professionals the flexibility to earn their Master of Laws (LL.M.) or Master of Jurisprudence (MJ) completely online.

Our students and alumni work as in-house counsel, patent lawyers, VPs, directors, and analysts in risk assessment and food safety. From supply chain management to product development to labeling, our students bring their expertise into the virtual classroom with you, creating an interdisciplinary learning environment.

This new and dynamic field of law is growing quickly and attracting practitioners ready to make a difference in the age old profession of law.
