Career & Employment Resources

Handshake is MSU’s resource designed for new job seekers or those entering a new field. It provides access to all things career related, including workshops, digital resources and job opportunities. Log in to handshake with your MSU Net ID and Password to get started. Alumni have access for two years after graduation.

You are also eligible to join the MSU Alumni Association where you can access a range of resources and services geared toward the experienced job seeker. The free membership provides Global Food Law students with a network of nearly 500,000 Spartans around the world and provides numerous career resources for alumni at various points in their careers as well as many other services.

Positions requiring global food law knowledge can be found regularly on sites such as the Institute of Food Technologists, US Food and Drug Administration, US Department of Agriculture, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and World Health Organization. Multi-national corporations, small, independent start-ups, government and non-governmental agencies seek candidates with a thorough understanding of food laws and regulations as they expand their businesses.

A recommended resource for exploring possible careers in food law with a focus on policy is the Harvard Food Law and Policy Career Guide (PDF).
